
Scope of work
The mapping and needs assessment will at least involve
Identifying stakeholders (CSOs, CBOs, survivor groups, networks, etc.) whose participation is crucial for an inclusive, survivor-centered, and gender-informed transitional justice process.
Conducting a comprehensive assessment, including a risk assessment of the general context and environment, to identify essential needs and guide transitional justice activities.
Gaining a better understanding of the level of knowledge and involvement of local stakeholders in transitional justice issues in Ethiopia.
Exploring existing collaboration and cooperation mechanisms, and determining the most effective methods for enhancing collaboration and coordination to amplify the voices of the communities they represent
Methodology
The consultant is expected to devise appropriate methodology to conduct the stakeholder mapping and needs assessment.
Expected deliverables
Inception report which contains the possible contents of the assessment, methodology, and work plan with a timeframe Draft report. LHR will provide comments on the draft and the consultant will finalize the draft report in view of these comments.Final report; and Presentation of the findings of the result in a validation workshop.
Duration of the Work
The duration of the work shall be roughly two months (60 days)
Job requirements:
Advanced degree in law or social science, preferably with a focus on transitional justice and human rights
Proven experience in conducting research and experience working in the civic space
Well informed about the transitional justice and the latest developments in Ethiopia
Fluency in both written and spoken English.
